I am politically progressive and I think a radically new vision, with renewed hope, is needed if we are to experience just and peaceful relations with our South Jersey neighbors here at home, with distant neighbors across our great American homeland and with those living in the world community abroad.

South Jersey needs a courageous and progressive champion who is willing to speak truth to power in the halls of Congress.

I am the only real choice of people who hunger for change that makes a difference in their lives. I am a people connecting person. I have an activist spirit coupled with a sense of fairness and a broad view of what 21st century progressive ideas should be about. With your support I will achieve election success in 2008.

Mahdi Ibn-Ziyad, the progressive Democratic candidate for Congress in the 1st District of New Jersey, is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. His father was a meat-packinghouse worker and union activist. He is the first member of his family to graduate from college. He was not able to complete high school prep courses because of financial difficulties, but received the high school GED equivalency (1962) while on active military duty.

Congressman Rob Andrews

In his 19 years in Congress, Robert Andrews has sponsored 526 bills since Jan 7, 1997, of which 522 haven't made it out of committee.

Of the four which made it to the House floor, none were made into law. New Jersey needs a dynamic, effective representative, who votes in the peoples' interests, not in search of Corporate PAC money.
